Playing What We Feel, Feeling What We Play

I see revival signs everywhere. On billboards, church marquis, the Internet. What is revival?

REVIVAL
re⋅viv⋅al  /rɪˈvaɪvəl/ –noun 1. restoration to life, consciousness, vigor, strength, etc.
2. restoration to use, acceptance, or currency: the revival of old customs.
3. a new production of an old play.
4. a showing of an old motion picture.
5. an awakening, in a church or community, of interest in and care for matters relating to personal religion.
6. an evangelistic service or a series of services for the purpose of effecting a religious awakening: to hold a revival.
7. the act of reviving.
8. the state of being revived.
9. Law. the reestablishment of legal force and effect.

For me revival is the renewing of the Holy Spirit. Now I have to admit that I'm not as strong in the Spirit as I once was when I first became Born Again in '92. I would wake up and pray before getting out of bed. Do communion when I got up and asked God in Jesus' name to fill me with the Holy Spirit before going out the door and start my day walking in the Spirit of God, whewww! This was every day for four or five years. It was great. The things He did through me was beyond awe. I wanted to do it all, and through me He did a lot. I would get on a bus and no sooner sit down and people around me would start confessing their sins. Now that was the power of God. It had nothing to do with me other than being the vessel in which He moved through. I miss those days but they were also filled with witnessing the corruption of the churches and their leaders, one of them was just on the news and went to jail for trying to swindle a man out of his home. It seemed that everywhere I went or how sound the sermon was there was always corruption going on. That's when I took a few steps back and looked very hard at what I was seeing and asked God what was going on? I now know the answer to be a lack of REPENTENCE in the church and The Church itself. Christ told me once that The Church, His Bride, is the prostitute that rides the beast in Revelation 17 but not to worry because She'll have a chance to repent. There's a lot being said for taking God out of everything we stood for as a nation but where is He in your life? Are you walking in repentance and sharing His forgiveness? Are you living in His Truth? Yeah, we need a revival alright, I think I'll start one for myself and see where He takes it. God bless you all - Billy

Judy, our members can put whatever they want on their blogs as long as it's not x rated, satanic, solicitous or foul.

Every social site has people that post these discussions in their blogs or in the appropriate groups. A blog is basically an individuals personal journal, interests, diarys or thoughts.

If a person is sending personal messages to people on their beliefs or soliciting or attacking then it will be stopped when reported to me. But the blogs are on a member's page for people to read or not. It isn't being thrown in other member's faces.

You know that I am a CHRISTian and will almost always get involved in CHRISTian discussions but the site as a whole is generally about music with a variety of other interests within.

Yes, this might be a bit deep for some but as I said, it's Billy's blog and he can post it. I don't need to read it if I don't want to and I'm sure there are a lot of members who don't read it and that's o.k.

I believe that those who need to read it will be led to do so but if not led to read it they can read the other posts instead although it seems that very few ever post anyway so maybe nobody but a handful of people are here to begin with.

My point is that a person's blog is their own just as in other social sites and newspapers. We could very well hear the same discussions in restaurants, waiting rooms, etc.

Yes, it's deep but Billy is deep and emphatic.

Judy, I'm not upset with your comment but I do believe you answered your own question. Choice. I choose to believe in TRUTH. I've tried most of the other stuff but after I was touched by God it is impossible for me to turn from the one thing I was searching for. TRUTH. Nothing else matters but His TRUTH. You can choose to worship whatever you deem as your higher power but I will continue to worship His TRUTH. As for being a tad much for some of the readers here all I can say is CHOOSE. You, and them can choose not to participate in this Christian forum if you choose too, or not. But rest assured I will continue in this Christian forum with His TRUTH. I hope this doesn't offend you in any way. God warns against higher powers other than Himself. Honest, He said this. So choose what you want. Really, choose whatever you want too. But I'll choose Jesus Christ every time and only Jesus Christ. Thank you for your comment.

ok, gotta ask do you all think this deep stuff is just a tad bit to much for most of our cal members? hope you are not upset with me in asking, belief in a higher power is a matter of choice
and some do not wish to discuss it and might even be scared now to respond to anything. In my posts I always get a response but it is light and not deep and heavy. I am in prayer every day for my friends and loved ones, but also meditate do yoga and follow zen and feng shui, and believe that a good person will see heaven when their time comes, no matter what their faith!
or personal beliefs are.
wishing you the best

Billy, thanks for posting this. It reminds me of what an awesome feeling when The Holy Spirit takes hold of us. I've felt it a few times but lately, well, I guess I've been sleeping.

I want so much to be on fire for The Lord but I'm only on fire for Him when in conversation but I don't step out enough in other situations or at least I don't feel that I do.

We do need revival. Even our preachers are now soothsayers. They tell us what we want to hear, they teach us how to live a more fulfilled life yet only mention Christ once or twice near the end of their so called sermons. They're more like motivational speakers.

Even those who do preach with the fire and brimstone kind of loud, growling, shouting speech, don't seem to be filled with The Spirit. I think they just learned it in ministry school.

I wasn't bothered by the shouting sound of that preacher in the video but I'm bothered when I hear it in today's preachers and I think it's because discernment might be telling me that it's not sincere.

Speaking of revival, Downey has a movement going now to put "In God We Trust" plaques back into the council chambers. There are many cities who have succeeded in being able to put God back in the council chambers.

They're sending me a packet to let me know which council members I need to appoach about this and how to go about casting my vote and speaking my opinion.

If more cities would do this, I believe our nation will turn around. Putting God back in our lives is the only thing that will clear up the mess we've put ourselves in with drive by shootings, pregnant unwed teens, drugs, school shootings, molestations, etc.

That all became prevalent when we said "No God, we don't need You".

Yes Billy, we need a revival. I pray everyday for an out pouring of The Holy Spirit upon the whole world because I know that we are in the end times.

Thanks for being such a good servant of God.
