Does getting a gig normally involve a gun? LOL

This is a True Story. I was practicing at a St.Louis County Park after work tonight. I was playing in an open pavillion. Someone walked up behind me with a gun! Its all true! Well he was a St.Louis County Park Ranger and the gun was attached to his hip inside the holster.LOL He said "I wanted to see if you were any good." I played a couple songs for him and he invited me to an event next month at one the the parks in the region. He was involved in getting local talent for a late evening bike ride… Continue

Moretime, I think I need to clarify something that Cat said.

Your music DOES stay on your profile page. It just doesn't show up in the "Recent Activity" that shows on the homepage.

Also, the Jukebox that Cat mentions isn't saying that you don't have your own music player. Each member does have a music player on their profile page which is exclusively for the songs that they upload but the jukebox that Cat mentioned is for other songs.

Come by a give us a little holler.

Hi Moretime, glad to hear you got a gig out of that funny situation at the park, and that your recording session went well.
Keep at it because as the saying goes, the squeeking wheel gets the grease.
Probably did not spell properly on a word but I think you get the idea.
I`m looking forward to hearing your mp3`s.
Keep plugging away and good things are going to happen.
My best to you and yours.

ok heres the story - as the story last ended it was me playing the guitar in a pavillion when a man with a gun came up ( Park Ranger), wanted to hear some tunes then offered a name of a band who wanted some help. I have since practiced 4 times with them and am learning, teaching, and having a load of fun. I play my first gig with them in 2 Fridays from here, There are a total of 4 gigs ahead so far.

THAT being said, This past Saturday besides a trip to Cuba with my wife and grandson, (oh yeah Cuba,Missouri), I spent two hours in the recording studio. It would take 6 hrs to tell you what I remember.
I will say I am very happy with the choice of studio. we had talked on the phone prior about how the sessions normally happen and I wasn't surprised by anything. The engineer asked what my expectations were, like was I doing this as a commercial venture or just wanted to do some songs to win friends and influence people.
He was very patient and the sessions moved along quickly. I played guitar and sang my songs. Next session we will start separating the tracks so guitar and voice are on their own track then start adding other musicians.
Everything was recorded "flat", no reverb or added touches so far.
I probably need to pay Mike the engineer double because I really liked his nice comments and suggestions LOL He complimented my voice, my songs all being in my range, my pitch and the fact all my songs were a complete package. Maybe he can teach my wife to compliment like this LOL It would be worth the money!!!

The studio had a cozy feel, like what I was doing then was the most important thing in the world and nothing should invade the space or atmosphere.

As things progress I want to put some mp3s here for you all to hear.
Im ok everybody , just been busier than a firefighter in hell
