What a beautiful piece of video. I'm getting so sick & tired of the exclusiveness, the "my way or the highway to hell" perspective that's unfortunately all too common these days and strays so close to bigotry, vain egotism, and violent lunacy. God...

The antichrist may not be one person, but a group. One person alone cannot cause the kind of havoc that is being caused now. Beware that their true mission is to betray in the name of help. What is their end product?

Wish I had a photo of some of my costumes as a kid. In later years I just never dressed up, except for finding an old Colonial dress and cap from the 1976 Bicentennial that I wore in 2006, to hand out candy to the kids. The fabric was old by then ...

Profile Information

About Me:
Sometime writer and poet - my husband is much more prolific than me - he actually writes songs and performs. When I say let's promote you, he says not interested! But if I did, I think he would go for it.
My 3 sons are all grown and doing great on their own - that was a long haul! They were wild and crazy, very cool guys. I mean, how many kids call wrestling and fighting with each other fun? I finally was able to put out the good things when they left. And now 2 are in France raising families and one is in Chicago. One of the things I did with them when they were little was crank up the music and everyone break danced all over the house (this was the 80's, mind you) going to school dances, they were highly prized by the girls as not afraid to get out there and boogie. No brag, just fact.
Oh, I guess I'm supposed to tell you about me? Well, I gather motivation and self esteem from my good products. And I have a lifetime of them, too many to write here.
And I like to decorate houses.
Still have a dream of being a fashion designer. That was college but never pursued it as there were a few too many tragedies in the family, and I had to stick around to work, married a con man and ended up working long hours and raising three sons alone. So much for white picket fence life.
But I was creative by going to Goodwill for clothes and fooling my snobby aunts with them. It worked, too! Ha!

Relationship Status:

Your Proudest Moment
When I could brag about my sons all at the same time. They were a handful, believe me. But high ethical standards and helping others - when they crashed and burned, they asked for help and learned from their mistakes. Now they have wisdom at young ages and are good husbands with very cool wives.

Your involvement in music
writer, related to one of the above, just interested
Do you play an instrument? If so please specify.
No
How long have you been professionally involved in music, if at all?
not professional
If you would like to specify the instrument that you play, please feel free to do so.
Started on piano when I was 8 - was very good, loved it and wanted to play. Family problems interrupted that and I never did, then my dad bought us a player piano - it was easier and faster and by then I was off to college. But I have a VERY good ear and help my husband with his own writing and compositions. I am the listener who says what I hear and impressions I get from it, so he can fine tune his songs to perfection. He is self taught guitar, and he has a nice Martin.

Who inspired you musically?
I seem to have been born that way, with renewed interest just before meeting my husband. It was sort of cosmic, if you know what I mean? I was not allowed to listen to music growing up and was quite the nerd girl going camping and jeep racing with my brothers and sisters. Beatles ballads inspired me aesthetically, and I can not listen to music unless I can feel it. Do not need or want background music.

All is right with the world

It doesn’t take much to realize
All is right with the world
When we stop listening to fear mongers.

A good man is not so hard to find,
It seems
When all you have to do is look
Around the corner where your neighbor
Is helping the old lady across the street
And good things happen in dreams.

Where the paperboy is knocking on doors
Looking for the owner of a gray cat –
The man in front of you on the road,
Pays for your toll that day
In an act of random kindness,
And someone tells you, “lookie here… Continue

The Age Before the Woe

Have you thought about it ever?
Regret so strong you feel?
For all the things we should have done,
And for the broken seal?
The seal was for promises
We made so long ago,
In a time we were all close -
The age before the woe.

Unforeseen were other views,
The kind that want to halt
All good things we agreed to have,
Believed to be our fault.
Our sights were altered - forces bared,
’Til we turned into foe,
After the time we were so close -
The age before the woe.

We carried on with wayward plans,… Continue

The Fir Tree - poem

Fir Tree
Fir tree proudly stood there so graceful and strong.
His branches were fresh and green, fragrant and long!
They flowed just like arms to hug me as I stood
Staring up at the tip, thinking, “Oh, yes I could!”
I climbed to the top of his tall slender frame.
“He helped me!” I thought, ‘cause his branches just came
Right under each foot, and he whispered my name
As his needles softly brushed my face.

Once up there, I knew that this would be my place
To relax and get out of the mad daily rac… Continue

The Deep Dark Sea

My sister laughed when she read this because she is a vintage scuba diver, having won the Platinum 5000 award a few years ago and a friend of Sir Robert Marx - the one time I tried going under with gear on, in my own swimming pool, I panicked and she still teases me about that. So, this one I wrote for the owner of the Scuba Museum in Loves Park, Il.

Gazing into the unknown, the deep dark sea,
Pulls me towards the depths of something I don’t want to see.
What could be so darn nasty that woul… Continue

That Old Circus Town

This was a little historical town my coffee house was located in - I took a walk, returned to my store and wrote the following:

It’s a feeling you get when you are in the area
And those images you see from the corner of your eye.
A faint echo of crying beasts in a populated village,
Whose people are covering up for crimes of the past.

Crimes against our friends in nature
Who were not born to serve as our amusement-
Nor were they meant to provide wealth and fine things for our families
In… Continue

I hit the button before I was actually finished.

I was going to say, you must be a mostly happy person. Sunshine, we need it. Early rising would be a healthy lifestyle for all of us too.
Tell me how you feel tomorrow.
At 10:42pm on September 9, 2009, Pixie Bavle-Nolin said…
Yeah, you might be paying for the early rise but at least you get a lot of sunshine. Sometimes my insomnia won't allow me to go to sleep until 9am, then I don't wake up until it's almost sundown.

Science has proven that sleeping at night causes the weight loss and contentment hormone to be active during awake time.

No wonder I can't lose weight and am always stressed.
