My grandmother was born in Leicester. I remember when she spoke to me and then when my dad's German side of the family spoke, well, I guess it was all too much. My parents said I was very late in learning to talk. I suppose I couldn't figure out what pronunciation I was supposed to use.
Now I make up for the late talking although I do slip in and out of accents on certain words. Actually, I do that on writing sometimes too. Sometimes I'll spell color and other times colour. Sometimes theater and other times theatre, catalog or catalogue so you just never know with me.
