And I always wondered whether I was in the wrong
When loving all the same as one, yet not to one belong-
Telling social lies pretending life and circumstances
Were ever more important in creating new romances,
When all I really wanted was a pal who understood
The zillion more aesthetic ways to love the way we could.

A Young Lad

I knew him as right!
He was still full of fight -
A hardship as son -
Needed to be won
Before we could meet
Once again.

But it never became -
And I never heard
What exactly did happen
Or what had occurred.

In long sorrow I waited,
Wondering when
I would ever see
This old friend again?

Then years later I spied
The one who eyed
In just the right way
As if to say here I am,
Let me stay.

With you guys.

Judy,. thank you for The Journey. I believe that life is so much easier with love and hope and postivie attitudes. So many with negative attitudes are so miserable.

As for "My Blue eyed boy", that's beautiful yet sad. I'm sorry that you had to have such a loss but I know your faith has helped you much.

Thank you for being a friend and a member here..............Pixie

P.S. When my husband first died, I wrote a poem about a journey also. Mine is entiteled "Too long the Journey" I might post it here at some point.

THE JOURNEY
No need for map or marked roads
nor airport lounges or railway stations
Just fill your heart with love.... get loads
for the journey is what matters most
with death our distant destination

No excess charge for endless hope
a soul filled...thus is light
Just pack it well, I'm sure you'll cope
with goodness in your sight
The passport of Paradise
is in your heart
ENJOY THE JOURNEY

MY BLUE EYED BOY

dressed you in the room that day
in blue to match the sparkle in your eyes
you grabbed my finger and held on tight
where you ready then for fantasies flight.

we would talk for hours, you were my best friend
so tall and handsome with those piercing blue eyes
all the gals would melt and sigh
then your special one came along and I saw love
yet still we would spend hours talking
your funny humor, your quirky smile
now you've gone away for awhile

I still love you son and can't seem to say goodbye
nor do I want to as one day I will hold your hand
though it might be in another land
The heavens will open and we shall sit hour after hour
talkin, and then you'll say Mom you are the prettiest
gal I know,so just a tear will come to my eye as I think
of all we shared my blue eyed boy
Now I walk the beach listening to our oceans, or to the
magesty of the leaves as they fall in the forest
I look at those babies all the time
remembering the one who was mine

MY BLUE EYED BOY

Hi SirHughy. welcome to the group and thanks for joining us here. I know I haven't written to you for a long time and I have no excuse other than that I've been very busy.

I barely have time to respond to the posts and then it takes me quite awhile to reply to my messages. My apologies. I'll go write to you in a few minutes.

Boy this world is moving fast!
How can so many things happen just in MY lifetime!
from .03 for a postage stamp to .45
from "never heard of television" to TV on a cell phone
From a crank phone on the wall to one in your ear
From spanking a kid to be the boss
From the kids being boss
From all drs and teachers being over 50 to teachers who look
younger than the students.
From a model A and T Fords - all black , and knowing all about a car From as
far away as you could see it, to not being able to find your
car in a parking lot because they all look the same.
From All churches being full on Sunday to 6-10 being a crowd
From bible verses and prayers in school, and Pledge Of Allegiance
every day to being a crime to mention religion.
From Washing clothes on a wash board to laundromats, and
automatics in the kitchen.
From 10 hr workdays 6 -7 days a week for .50 a day to 8 hrs a day,
40 a week, for well, no limits.
From there always being a job to do for any one, to business like
Banks and auto companys going under.
From Long skirts to Minis, blue jeans.. evening gowns to tea shirts.
From black bulky shoes that button up to high heels to sneakers.
From pencil and notebooks to wireless notebooks.
From having one dr in the whole town who doctored 3 generations all
their life, to at least one dr for each ailment, and a thousand in
a town. (In WV they don't all claim English as their main
language.)
From living on the same farm with your parentsa and granparents..
possible in the same house.. to everyone scattered aboutd the
country in fancy houses and apartments .. and the new trend
once again to going to live w/ family,
From self educated Southerners as president of the US to a black president..

We have come a LONG WAY BABY!!

Jim, that's beautiful. CHRISTmas is now so commercialized and Santa Claused that nobody seems to remember what we are really celebrating.

I've written many CHRISTian songs and poems but the only CHRISTmas poem I've written was actually about Santa, unfortunately I too am guilty of leaving Christ out of CHRISTmas.

Thanks for writing about the truth of why we celebrate CHRISTmas.
