Prophecy Watchers

When it was written, nearly 30% of the Bible's content was prophetic. Today, nearly all of these prophecies have become recorded history. But a handful of the Bible's predictions remain to be fulfilled. They are predictions of the End Times

When will the end times be?

When Are the "Last Days"?

However, no one knows the day or the hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah's day. In those days before the Flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn't realize what was going to happen until the Flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. So be prepared, because you don't know what day your Lord is coming. Know this: A homeowner who knew exactly when a burglar was coming would stay alert and not permit the house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time. For the Son of Man will come when least expected.

Matthew 24:36-44 NLT

Thank you for the comments but I need to add that it is one person. You can't think in the physical, you have to see it in the spiritual to see it at all. Satan/Lucifer is the one person. Now who He takes in the physical to complete the mission.....? It could be Obama. But we really don't need to know these things. We are to keep our hearts and mind focussed on the end prize, eternity with Christ. Remember, we are spiritual beings in earthly bodies.

The antichrist may not be one person, but a group. One person alone cannot cause the kind of havoc that is being caused now.
Beware that their true mission is to betray in the name of help. What is their end product?

You are so right on!! Everything you have said is so true and the way I believe!! We have to be on the watch for the Antichrist more than ever!! I think he is already among us!! I feel the ends times are near, but none of us know when. That is why we have to stay grounded in the word of God!! God Bless you all......

I subscribe to Harvest Ministries and today I received this message from Pastor Greg:

Stemming the Tide of Deception
Jesus said that one of the signs of the last days would be an explosion of religious deception, culminating in the arrival of the ultimate deceiver, the Antichrist. He warned, "For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many" (Matthew 24:5 NIV). One of the signs of the end times will be cults springing up everywhere.

In addition to established cults, we have in recent history seen groups spring up such as the followers of Jim Jones, who committed mass suicide in Guyana in 1978. Then there was David Koresh and the Branch Davidians in Texas in 1993. There also was Heaven's Gate, the group in Southern California who committed mass suicide in 1997.

Add to this the influx of new age mysticism and spirituality, and we have to conclude that we are seeing these words of Jesus being fulfilled before our very eyes. It seems at every turn, someone else has come up with a so-called "new" revelation: This is the new prophet. . . . This is the new guru. . . . This is the new truth. . . . This is what you need to read. . . . This is what you need to believe.

So what defines a cult? One mark of a cult is that it denies the deity of Jesus Christ. Another is that its members offer other writings or books that they claim are of equal or greater value than the Bible.

I once received a rather lengthy e-mail criticizing the fact that I had identified a specific group as a cult in one of my messages. The e-mail's author claimed that I was "unloving," because she had a friend who was a member of the particular cult I had mentioned, and if her friend had heard me say this, it would have turned her off

Does my responsibility as a Christian to be loving mean that I can never identify something that is false? Absolutely not. As a pastor, part of my job is not only to teach and equip people, but to also warn them of potential danger. The apostle Paul told the elders at Ephesus,
Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! (Acts 20:28–31 NIV)
How will we know who the wolves are if we don't periodically identify them? The apostle Paul wrote the words of 1 Corinthians 13, the often-quoted, great treatise on love. But what does it mean to love?
Love not only nurtures and embraces, but it also warns when necessary. Proverbs 27:6 says, "Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful" (NIV).
Many of Paul's epistles refuted popular false teachings of the day. Galatians was largely written to refute the teaching of a group called the Judaizers, who basically were trying to bring non-Jews under the bondage of the Mosaic Law. Paul was correcting that.

Occasionally, Paul would take it a step further and name specific people who were false teachers or who were leading others astray. He wrote to Timothy, "But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some" (2 Timothy 2:16–18 NKJV).

And in Romans 16:17, he said, "Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them" (NKJV).

There is a place for equipping ourselves. But at the same time, I don't apologize for identifying false teaching. My primary objective is not to refute everything that is being said.

My primary objective is to teach the Bible and let people learn for themselves the whole counsel of God. In the process of doing that, when they encounter a teaching that is aberrant, false, or doesn't jibe with Scripture, they can identify it and know what the Bible says about it. This is something that has to be done—especially in the days in which we are living. -Greg Laurie-

Is this truth of fear factors. I just read riverbottompreacher comments
about our President! I wanted to relate a story of something I did for a Homeless Man which alot of us here I do not think would do. Three years ago, when going thru some horrible personal stuff I was
still reading the bible, and trying to do some good here in Nashville
and that did include working with NASHVILLE CARES which manly deals with AIDS PATIENTS and the sigma attached to that. I also
worked with the HOMELESS COALITION HERE in Nashville. What seven of us did INCLUDING ME. was to take a person OFF THE STREETS provide housing and help to get them established in the working world. I my case this person paid me a small amount for rooms, was so glad to be off the streets. And yes he had a felony record etc. Now he is a working responsible adult. Getting married in
October. If you really believe in the GOODNESS of the BIBLE and LOVE which you can almost read verse for verse in each chapter
and believe than all of you would do one little thing for mankind
REACH OUT YOUR HAND as JESUS DID! Would you?? people here
shamed me thought I was wacko etc etc etc but to this day I do believe it is was an ACT OF CHRISTAIN COMPASSION towards your
fellow man and not sorry I did it either.
It sure would be nice if more people would do the same thing, and
preaching this stuff about our PRESIDENT being republican ( THEY ARE THE BIGGEST NAY SAYERS TOO) democrat or republican I fee
is UN AMERICAN period. The world is now watching all of this, and
I feel when all the changes come for the good of AMERICA what are
the nay sayers going to say then.
A good person be they any religion as in the DAHLI LAMA who was
in Memphis yesterday or some small tribe in Africa who has never heard the words yet. If they are good people I find it hard to believe
if they Die THEY WON'T GO TO HEAVEN. As a Christain I believe in
God's love, on all humans whatever their personal beliefs are. Some of the most spiritual people I have met in my life time have been of
other beliefs too Does that make them sinners I don't think so! All
peoples have religious or spirtual beliefs as in our American Indians for example or Hindus and also Muslims. alot of the readings all are on
the same lines GOOD VERSUS EVIL. I have friends who are of many different faiths And that is how I learn about HUMANS period! So
as a Christain Am I suppose to turn my back of these people I don't think so.

Wow!!!.

I think that end time prophecy is frightening to some who don't completely understand.

Many don't know about or believe in The Rapture so they think that this all means the world will be consumed in fire or a meteor will hit or some kind of cataclysmic event will occur.

We need to pray for the outpouring of The Holy Spirit.

Thanks for posting this Billy.
