What a difference a decade makes.
The top photos are from this years costume and the Lady Godiva below is from when my husband was alive.

When he died, I wanted to die too so I let myself go and now, as you can see, I still have a ways to go to get it all back.

No, I'm not nude, I have a body suit on.

Wish I had a photo of some of my costumes as a kid. In later years I just never dressed up, except for finding an old Colonial dress and cap from the 1976 Bicentennial that I wore in 2006, to hand out candy to the kids. The fabric was old by then and kept splitting at the seams so it went into the bin later.

Oh! And one other time when my 3 sons were very young - picking them up from grade school on Halloween day, I had smeared my face with green mask (beauty treatment stuff) and put on a long black wig and green gloves, also blacked out one front tooth.
That was all I did.
Two of the boys refused to get into the car. One started crying, saying "You are not my mommy! You are not my mommy!" and the other one yelled "Take it off! Take it off!" They were furious at me.

As I looked around at other parents who had dressed up, I noticed their kids weren't complaining? Nevertheless, I had to take off the wig and gloves before they would get into the car. Even the blacked out tooth upset them. I handed them each a piece of Black Jack gum and showed them how to do their own teeth with it and they were a bit better knowing that. Later I showed them the green mask was only a beauty treatment cream.

That is probably why I never dressed up much after that. They are all grown and married with families now and still wonder when Mom does anything out of the ordinary.
