Oh, just a nickname. If it catches on, it's easier and quicker to type!

Bob, are you going to change the name of the group or is P&P Cafe a nickname? I kind of like it.

The P&P Cafe! (I could never remember how to spell "psychedelic" anyway!) Lots of interesting music and stuff to discuss! Don'tcha think?

Here's a question for this somewhat "orphaned" group: Out of all that music from "back in the day", what do you still listen to and still find relevant?

What!? No whammy bar?
Careful, we might start another group - gear! The Hardware of Music!

No Bigsby. I have never liked wammy bars. The first thing I did with the latest strat was to unscrew the wammy bar and gawd knows where I tossed it.

Live sound gear back then was so crude by todays standards. One example was that a power trio I was in I had 2 marshall stacks on my side and the 3rd was on the bass players side as a monitor. And I had 1 of his 3 sun stacks so I could hear him.

Did you happen to have a Bigsby on that Gretsch?
No doubt it was an explosive time - in many ways. Not only was there musical inovation and cross-polination there was much advancement in technological stuff. Bill Grahm's organization and people like Alembic Sound did much to improve the sound of live, LOUD rock & roll.
Today, it's the digital revolution which enables just about anyone with a computer and an active imagination to be a rock star - at least within their circle of "friends". Lot's of good stuff - lot's of horrid stuff! What enthusiastic cacophony! Kinda like a Vox on 10 and a hollow-body!
Peace,
da' Crow

My vote goes with Bob ... I remember that time all to well. I remember getting some demo gigs and all of a sudden you could play with sounds. BTW... sitting in front of a wide open Vox tube amp and playing a fat body gretsch tennessee will create rediculous feedback.

Pixie,
I might be interested in that (administrator). You'd have to explain to me just what that would entail.
There was a lot of incredible music created then. Of course, there was a lot that was just goofy and forgetable. But that's true of any genre in any age. One "lost" album is "Bless Its Pointed Little Head" - a live at the Fillmore recording by the Jefferson Airplane. Incredible!
Peace.

Hi Bob, thanks for adding to this group. We need an administrator for the group because the creator abandoned it and is no longer with MusiCAL.

I try to add what I can but I'm not an expert on this subject so there's not a whole lot that I can add.

Hey everyone, I'm putting out the call for an administrator. Anyone interested, please let me know.
