Playing What We Feel, Feeling What We Play

Retireing from public life, I have decided to retire from my job as a councilman/Mayor.
After 8 years in public office I have come to the conclusion that serving in the public forum is no longer good for my health, and decided to retire.
I still love singing and do so when I can.
I want to thank those of you who have listened to my music and given me encourgagement.
I have a great love of music and always will.
My retirement party is to be Oct.16, from 6 pm to 9pm at the C. Robert Lee center next to City Hall in room A and B located at 21815 Pioneer Blvd. Hawaiian Gardens Calif.
I will continue to be here and finding how our members are doing.
This is a great site to be a member of.
God Bless all of you.

John, I'm sorry to hear that you're retiring. You're probably the last good mayor/councilman Hawaiian Gardens will ever see but I do agree that it's not good for your health.

They have one of the biggest gang problems in the county and it seems the residents are unwilling to even hear any solutions to the problem let alone get involved in stopping the gang activity.

You're probably a lot safer getting out of it. As for your health, STOP SMOKING. You know I smoke but you already see the effects it's having on your voice and breathing control so STOP IT!!!!!!!!

I'll do everything I can to be at your party. I'm going to try to get to Marc Livingood's album release party also and then of course, The Peppermint Apes gigs.

Whew, that's more activity than I've had in a long time.

Pixie, thanks for the vote of confidence, I hope you can make the retirement party, but if you don`t I will understand.
I will leave the council knowing that I have done the best I could, to make life a little bit better in this city.
It is the friendship of you and others that I cherish most.

Cheryl, I've been telling John that I want to get hypnotized to stop and that he should also but I haven't found any near here. I'm not driving out to Beverly Hills so I'll keep looking.

I wish to thank those of you who have responded so far, my decision was not an easy one, but I leave knowing I have done my best to make peoples life a bit better.
As for my smokeing, I have tried everything in drugs to this point, the only thing I have not tried is a hypnotist.
Have not been able to find one who specialises in that realm.
What ever comes I feel I have had a good life.
I started the first sciecne fair for the children at my church school, I was able to form the first picnic for a get together so our people could get to know one another. I formed a teen club for our teenagers to help them interact with one another.
I have always tried to help and be a part of my community.
I once had the opportunity to become a professinal singer and decided I needed to take care of my family.
So I went to work in the aerospace industry.
After many years after retirement, I ran for office in my city and was elected.
I have had eight wounderful years of trying to make things better for those in my city.
I hope that I have succeded in some way.
Again thank those of you who have responded.
God Bless all of you.
